Last week of Reception and home schooling before we transition full time to Year 1 from next week. It’s been a long gruelling 15 weeks of lockdown and homeschooling. We round off with “I Love Bugs”, exploring the woods, balloon racing and puppet making.
Sharing is caring and we have to be fair, that’s what we learnt in maths this week! We took things slowly with our snail theme except when we were racing and spinning snail tops.
This weeks book is “Arrgh Spider!” and our activities were all spider themed with salt painting and hand print art. We also focused on calculating single and double digits.
How super is Superworm? Find out how he saves the day and our own made up adventure for him. We recycle, draw our own Sistine Chapels and construct with marshmallows!
11 weeks stuck at home and this is the first time we have ventured out of our own home! How mad is that? This week we started our minibeasts adventure and learning about money! Perfect for when we can go out shopping again!
All those weeks of home learning have paid off! Today I received a special letter from my little boy, I’m so in love.
It’s the last week of our under the sea theme, and we round off with “The Singing Mermaid”. We save some Duplo people trapped in ice and played lots of board games.
“Barry The Fish With Fingers” is one of our favourite books, so we did lots of activities that Barry would do too! Such as bubble painting, finger painting and finger puppets too.
It’s VE day celebrations!! We made lots of colourful decorations. Including a tent inspired by Eric Carle and read Mr Seahorse with similar drawings too.
Focus book: “Stella: Star of the Sea”, discussed different feelings and how to talk about them. We researched the different fishes mentioned. We got active with our hopscotch, treasure hunt and science experiments.
Revised long oo, short oo, ar and or. Read “Way Deep Down in the Deep Blue Sea” and created a shoebox aquarium. We went deep-sea exploring and returned to code and solve mysteries on Osmo.
Sounds: ai, ee, igh and oa. We read “We’re going on an Egg Hunt” since it’s Easter and learnt about Time. We smashed our way through some dinosaur ice and started a carnivorous garden.
The first week of lockdown and we revise ch, sh, th and ng. We take a trip on “The Train Ride” and visit Chester Virtual Zoo and trace animals in the sun.
