Foreo UFO: The Only 90 Second Smart Mask You Need

I love masks, and everytime I go on a trip to Asia, I ram pack my luggage with all types of masks.
Sheets, clay, sleep masks, peel offs, specialist masks etcetc., you name it, I’ve brought it. Until, late last year, I stumbled across Foreo UFO and was fascinated. They claim to give you all the benefits of a 20+ minutes mask AND MORE in just 90 seconds. I received my pink Foreo UFO in April and does it live up to its claim? Here’s my verdict after using it for a couple of months.

Foreo UFO: The only 90 Second Smart Mask you will ever need

The Science

This smart little gadget has all the beauty technology you need available right now in the palm of your hands. Not only is it geared for those looking for high tech skincare, but also those who live in the fast lane and don’t have time to stop and sit around waiting for their masks to activate. Basically, everyone.

There is Cryo therapy, Thermo therapy, green, blue and red light technology (LED), T-Sonic pulsation and an app that tells you what’s happening. Very smart indeed. However, the app wasn’t ready when I first received the product, which to be honest, didn’t really affect how I used the UFO. But using the app has assisted me in getting to know the product a little bit more. It also lets me order new masks and find out if they have launched any new products.

So why all this technology?

  • The Thermo therapy infuses the mask’s ingredients deep into your skin more efficiently and effectively, therefore shortening the required time.
  • The cooling effect of Cryo therapy shrinks the appearance of enlarged pores and puffiness. Making the skin feel fresh and revitalised
  • T-Sonic pulsation is just like a mini face massage, patting that last bit of mask juice into your skin leaving it radiant.
  • LED light (red, green and blue), UV-free phototherpaytreatment rejuventates the skin.

All this fancy technology means they have jam packed a mind twisting 20+ minutes into 90 seconds!

How Does it work?

There is the main device: The UFO (which stands for Ur Future Obsession) and mini sheet masks that fit onto the device. Currently they only have 2 masks available:

The “Make My Day” day mask, hydrates your skin and is formulated for anti-pollution. The “Call It A Night” night mask, replenishes and smooths your skin whilst you sleep. Both claim to give you glowing and radiant skin. Foreo has also said that they will launch more types of masks in due course.

How to use the UFO?

There is a ring that holds the mini sheet mask. All I had to do was take this off, align the mask onto the device and replace the ring back on. With only 1 button on the UFO, I pressed it once to turn it on and then press and held for about 3 seconds to sync with the Foreo app. If you’re not using the app, then press once for the day mask programme or twice for the night mask. I used the app, so all I had to do after syncing was to scan the barcode on the mask packaging and it automatically chose the correct programme for me.

Once that’s done, I glided it all over my face in circular motions. And because I was using the app, there was a countdown on it to tell me exactly how much time has passed.

The day mask starts off cool, then warm and then pulsates. The app gives the option to adjust the intensity, but I quite liked the pre-programmed plan. Just remember to keep moving the UFO around your face and neck. Trust me, 90 seconds goes pass so quickly! I almost forgot and just kept it on one part of my face and by the time I got to the other side, it was already pulsing! Once I finished, I patted any residue mask juice into my skin and that’s it! My skin didn’t feel sticky or greasy or even dry. I honestly could have gone to bed just like that or put some make up on straight away if I was going out.

Tip:

There was quite a bit of mask juice left in the package, so I saved it in a clean makeup container and used the rest in the evening/morning. Sometimes, I would slap it back on the device after my face mask and use it on my neck or hands.

What’s included in the box?

My starter pack included the following:

  • 1x Pearl Pink UFO
  • 1 Make My Day mask
  • USB charger
  • Stand

My Verdict

My skin feels softer and looks a lot brighter. I’ve also noticed that my make-up stays on for longer without drying or cracking up.

However, I think its biggest selling point is its ease of use and its efficiency. If you don’t want to sit around waiting for your messy mask to work, then this is a great product for you.

A big thumbs up from S as well, although he enjoyed it so much he wished it was actually longer! 😂

Great! Where can I get it? and How much does it cost?

You can get it from Foreo.com for £249. A pack of 7 masks costs £9.90.

It is an expensive product, but I think if you’re investing this for long-term use, then it works out okay. Since you’re going to be spending the money on masks anyway, but with the Foreo UFO, you get hot and cold therapy sessions as well. However, if you’re not fussed about the technology, then using your regular sheet masks will work equally the same. I definitely think the hot and cold therapy has helped my skin in the long term, even if it was just for 90 seconds! It’s 90 seconds I am happy to spare everyday. So for me, it was worth it. Plus, I don’t have to try and balance my glasses in front of my eyes to watch the TV AND S can no longer try to crack my clay mask by making me laugh!

Can I cut my own sheet masks and use it with the Foreo UFO?

I have tried, but it didn’t work too great first time round. This is because the Foreo UFO uses heat technology, therefore my DIY mask dried more easily! And I’m not sure the DIY masks would have the same benefit as the masks by Foreo. So I haven’t been successful in finding one that will effectively last the full 90 seconds without adding more gel/cream in between. I will continue to test this out, but for the time being, my best bet is to use their mini sheets made especially for the UFO.

Have you used any Foreo products? What’s your verdict? And would you spend that kind of money on it?

Thanks for reading and until next time…

Wow that is pricey, but sounds good if face masks are your thing! I’m lucky if I have splashed a bit of cold water on my face these days 😉

Masks are not really my thing as it takes forever and seems like such a chore, but this little gadget makes it fun in a fraction of time! So I’m going to try and make it my thing 🙂

I am so clueless about this stuff ! I only use wash and moisturizer. This would be a big improvement!

You know what, I’m exactly that kind of girl! But every now and then, I try to be good as I know age is going to be my enemy in the long term, or maybe that’s laziness? I don’t know, but I’m trying to be nice to it and have a long-lasting civil relationship with my skin. lol

This is a great review! I recently go the new Foreo Fofo cleansing brush in my FabFitFun box and just started using it. I like the idea of using these masks in addition to the Fofo. The app is so cool too!

Seems great for skin care and I suppose it is worth the pricing with the technology involved. Going to check it out.

Maybe in a few years time when skincare technology is more readily available in such a compact size, then the price will drop and become even more accessible for the masses.

I love face masks, so I’ll definitely have to look into this one! It is a little pricey, but I don’t mind paying for products that actually work!
