*This post was written before the tragic events in Manchester on 22 May 2017. I am deeply saddened by the events and my thoughts are with the family and friends of all of those affected.*
Beauty trends come and go, but the thirst for whiter teeth has made this a billion £ market driven by our celebrity culture. Googling reveals thousands of teeth whitening products that you can buy, DIY at home or seek professionals for. They are everywhere and one ingredient that I come across, again and again, is charcoal. Continue Reading!
I LOVE biltong! There aren’t many people that I have come across that doesn’t like this classic snack. I spent most of my childhood in South Africa and they were everywhere, but when I moved back to London, getting hold of this delicacy was harder than I thought and much more expensive. They often found “jerky” in supermarkets, but not biltong. THIS is completely different to biltong! Jerkies are mostly cut into thin strips with little or not fat, whereas biltong comes from a variety of cuts, are cut thicker and may come with or without fat. So if you have not tried it before, go out and get some! Or even better, read on to discover homemade biltong! It’s super simple and super delicious! I used a dehydrator to make mine because I don’t have a biltong maker, but the end result is amazing. Plus the process is much quicker as well (12-24 hours instead of 4-7 days)! Continue Reading!
I recently read an interesting article that looked at the evolution of honesty and deception in young children, the study suggested that children around the age of 2 start learning how to lie. I thought to myself: “Great!! #JasperBean has just passed that milestone Continue Reading!

A whole place dedicated to the pink piggy “oink” family and her furry friends located at Paultons Park, New Forest, Hampshire. I must be crazy, right? Continue Reading!
“Sleep” – when parents hear this word, there is a love and hate battle going on. We love it when our little ones drift off to dreamy land, but sometimes the process of getting there and staying there can be a real struggle. Continue Reading!
\Now that #JasperBean is at the age where he’s able to take in more of the sights and smells around him. We visited Drusillas Park in Sussex and Godstone Farm in the Surrey Hills over the Easter bank holiday. It was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised at how many animals, activities and rides offered at both locations for our day out. Continue Reading
Today is another one of those sunny Spring mornings in London which are deceivingly sharp and cold. This made me wish I was back in Phuket enjoying the hot sun on my skin. We were there 6 weeks ago, so this post is a little late. Nonetheless it’s still an experience fresh in my mind that I would like to share.
Lent 2017 has just passed and during this time of reflection and abstinence. Since our little boy joined our lives from Easter 2015, our hands have pretty much been full since then. Now please don’t go thinking I would have wanted it any different. I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world! Having my little boy has shown me the kind of love that I never Continue Reading!
