Mummy Wishes for JasperBean

Mummy Wishes is not just about what I as a mummy wishes to dream or do. It’s also about my hopes and dreams for my little boy who has shown me what true unconditional love is.

I’m not a fairy or magician, but if I was, these are my top wishes for #JasperBean.

my love for you will always shine on - mummy wishesHappiness

Be happy, in everything you do. Laugh, smile and enjoy every moment of your life. If there is something preventing you from being happy – stop, think and change whatever it is that’s making you unhappy. Understand that there will be times where you will suffer from heartbreak or sadness, but these moments will not last and do not let these negative emotions overburden you. Chin up and look around, the world is beautiful.

He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth. Luke 1:14

Contentment

Be content with what you are blessed with, stop trying to fill a void. Instead look around and realise that what you have is enough. Always be grateful, it’s the value of something that counts, not the price. Don’t let the green eye monster tear you apart.

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:17

Be Kind

Have good manners and always respect yourself and others. Be polite and say “Thank you”, “Please”, “Excuse me”, “I’m sorry”, “Can I help you?” etc. Good manners never hurt anyone. Share your love and make the world a better place.
PS. It would make mummy super happy to hear you say these to me too because sometimes I don’t get credit for the sacrifices I make 🙂

Good manners will open doors that the best education cannot“. – Clarence Thomas

Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love towards us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD. Psalm 117:1-2

Never resort to violence

Never use violence to solve your problems. Being a bully doesn’t make you strong, resorting to throwing punches physically or verbally is a sign of weakness. If someone needs help, provide a helping hand, but always remember that you are strong enough to stand up to a bully and have the ability to say no and/or walk away. However, if anyone ever dares touch you the way they’re not meant to, defend yourself.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:44-45

Honesty

Don’t break the circle of trust with meaningless lies. You would have put in so much time and effort building great relationships, they are not worth throwing away. There is no perfection in this world, but there is honesty.

Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 10:9

Look after yourself.

Know that I have tried my hardest to give you the best start in life, it is down to you to maintain this. Of course, there will be days where we want to have nothing more than just junk and that’s ok, but remember you only have one body to look after this lifetime and we need to have a healthy body/mentality to enjoy our lives and share what we have.

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you toegther are that temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Be Unique and understanding

Don’t give into peer pressure, just because someone says things should be done a certain way does not mean you cannot find other ways to do it or do it better. Respect and love yourself and those you meet. There will be a lot of people you cross paths with in your lifetime, be understanding of your differences. Accept people for who they are, you are all unique and it’s our differences that make us beautiful and who we are. Always be true to yourself for God made you in his image.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

Save and never waste

Always save for a rainy day so that you don’t need to worry about the future. Don’t let money decide what you can or can’t do. Make the most of what you have, waste nothing and always remember to share with others.

The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down. Proverbs 21:20

#JasperBean, I want you to know that…

You can speak to me

I am your parent first and foremost and I will do and say a lot of things in your lifetime that you will not like or agree with. Please don’t hate or resent me, I only do these things for your own good and even if we end up fighting, remember that I still love you and that will never change. I hope at the end of the day, you can still confide in me.

You are a success and I’m proud of you

I am no tiger mum, and I will not push you to become a hammer-wielding judge or future Nobel prize winner. If this is what you aim to do, then Glory to God! I am already super proud! Although honestly, I would still be just as proud if you chose to be a truck driver or street sweeper. As long as you are happy with your choices, then I’m happy. I will always do whatever it takes to give you what you want, even the things that I never had.

Believe me when I say, I will always support your achievements and milestones, regardless of how small or insignificant you may think they are. (I can and will be the embarrassing mum).

There is so much more that I wish for you, my child, the list is endless! World Peace! Fresh Air, equality, freedom to travel and being able to do what you like without constraints and living in a non-prejudice society…. like I say, endless! Wishful thinking? Maybe… but its a start. We all have to start somewhere, but first, baby steps and one day, we will achieve it all!

I will always be there behind you
I’m sure my parents wished for the same things for me and my brothers and now I follow this tradition as many other parents have as well. Are you a parent or parent to be? What are your wishes for your children? Or what do you think your parents wished for when they had you?

Thanks for reading! Until next time…

Love, MsMamaBean

This is so sweet! I love the idea of “beans” ❤️ The idea of contentment really resonates with me..I think we so often focus on grandiose perfection and let that get in the way of the simple moments of contentment and feeling grace.
