Celebrating Chinese New Year
The Chinese New Year is also known as the Spring Festival. This ancient celebration marks the end of the Winter season and the beginning of Spring. Everything is new and coming back to life, making the start of a prosperous beginning. The Chinese celebrate the New Year in many ways and just like Christmas, we decorate our house with all kinds of things. Read on for my DIY Fai Chun printable. Continue Reading!
January is half way through and as we’re heading towards February, Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and if you happen to read this post after Valentines, then theres Mother’s day and birthdays, anniversaries and so on that beckons us to buy flowers and chocolates for our loved ones. The new year calls for new resolutions, but this year. I am not setting any. However, I recognise there are some things in my life that needs improvement. Today I’m focusing on my financing. Saving is something I’m determined to get right, especially with a small family now, spending can get out of hand pretty easily. In the pass, we have tried endless times to document clearly where our money was coming from and going to. We have used excel spreadsheets, systems and apps. But I still think the best way is to use a written spending journal (or Kakeibo). Call me old school. Continue Reading!
Christmas is a magical time for most, especially children and writing a letter to Santa is a great way to kick off the festivities. This simple letter to Santa is great for prewriting little ones or even older toddlers. Continue Reading!
Last week I shared with your #JasperBean’s Halloween outfit and today I wanted to share mine with you. This year halloween falls on a work day. Halloween is fast approaching and to be honest, I have not prepared anything. We don’t really celebrate it, but I do want to dress him up because I never really had this when I was a kid. Plus when I was doing #JasperBean’s monthly baby photos, there was always a halloween photo. Now that he is a bit older, I’m allowing him to (a certain extent) decide what his halloween costume will be. Continue Reading
I brought a cheap Kindle Fire for #JasperBean so that he can watch nursery rhymes etc rather than use mine or S’s phone. I’m not keen on him using any tablets or phones at such a young age, so we do limit his exposure to it. However, when we are travelling, there are exceptions. Instead of forking out for an expensive holder, I have made one for him Continue Reading!
* There has been another awful attack on our beautiful city of London on Saturday 3rd June. My thoughts and blessings go out to the family and friends who have been affected by this mindless violence. We need to stand united, we need to say it and mean it, we cannot tolerate extremism anymore. A massive thank you to the kindness of the public and emergency services, without you, we would be helpless.*
Since moving to our (new) house over a year ago, I have had blackout curtains for #JasperBean’s room on my to-do list. Continue Reading!
#JasperBean loves playing in the sandbox at nursery! Most days he will come home with sand in his clothes and hair and I know he’s definitely had a good day! The messier the better and he just can’t get enough of it! So with the weather being lighter and warmer, but not warm enough to take a trip down to the beach, our alternative was either to buy play sand or make our own Cloud Dough/Moon Sand!!
