Day Out at The Postal Museum

The Postal Museum is a new heritage museum in Clerkenwell, London. It first opened its doors on Friday 28th July 2017 behind the Mount Pleasant sorting office which previously operated as one of the largest in the world.

The main entrance had a big sign on top of the building, so we easily spotted this. However, upon entering, we thought we had Continue Reading!

A Review of Michelin-starred cakes from Yauatcha Patisserie

What is Yauatcha Patisserie and where can you find it?

If you’ve never heard of Yauatcha, it is the Michelin-starred high-end dim sum Chinese restaurant that’s been around for more than a decade. Thye are part of the Hakkasan group that includes more recogised names such as Wagamama and Busaba Eathai. More specifically, Yauatcha Patisserie has only been around for a handful of years and opened its first standalone store in 2015 at Broadgate Circle in the city of London. Continue Reading!

Mummy is Spoiling the Kids!

We have the luxury of my parents helping us take care of #JasperBean when we’re working. However, as a mum, I do worry that grandparents are spoiling him rotten (as did my grandma with me). And guess who would have to deal with the consequences? Yours truly…”

All too often, when we pick up #JasperBean, I wouldn’t say I get a “complaint“, but I’m usually greeted with. “He’s been such a good boy today, but as soon as you show up, he throws a tantrum, Continue reading “Mummy is Spoiling the Kids!”

Control Your Finances With A DIY Spending Journal

The new year calls for new resolutions, but this year. I am not setting any.  However, I recognise there are some things in my life that needs improvement. Today I’m focusing on my financing. Saving is something I’m determined to get right, especially with a small family now, spending can get out of hand pretty easily. In the pass, we have tried endless times to document clearly where our money was coming from and going to. We have used excel spreadsheets, systems and apps. But I still think the best way is to use a written spending journal (or Kakeibo). Call me old school. Continue Reading!

48 Hours in Cardiff City Centre

Happy New Year!

Last month, me and #JasperBean spent our first time away from home alone in Cardiff City Centre. We travelled by Great Western Railway from London Paddington and couldn’t have asked for a smoother journey! Especially when the little one fell asleep half an hour into the ride. It was then 1.5 hours of quiet bliss for mummy! Continue Reading!

Nursery Christmas Concert Gone Wrong

When was the first time your little one was cast in a Christmas Concert? How did it go? Do you think back on it fondly? Or hope it had never happened?

We recently attended #JasperBean’s Christmas Concert and like the previous year, we (me and S) were very excited! We practised Jingle Bells and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star until we could sing no more. I even brought materials to make his outfit instead of buying the bog standard supermarket Christmas outfits. Our little star was promoted from a sheep last year to a star this year! We basically couldn’t wait for our little one to sing his heart out, but again, we should have known, that it wouldn’t go according to plan. Continue Reading!

First Cinema Experience: Tips for a Stress Free Trip to the Movies

S and I love loved going to the cinema, when we were dating and before #JasperBean came into our lives, our weekends and evenings would be filled with cinematic experiences. Heck, our first date was at the cinema! Whether this was psycho-thrillers, chick flicks, war documentaries or secret cinema experiences, we never considered this as a treat. Now with a toddler in tow, this has become a rare treat because I never was brave enough to bring an unpredictable bundle of energy to the big screen. Anyone with a toddler that doesn’t keep quiet or sit still will know what I mean. However, we decided to take the bull by its horns and take our toddler to his first cinema experience.
